Emotional competences and counteracting violence against students with autism at school - International on-line training for educators and teachers in the frame of the AGAINST BUBBLE project
Autism and Asperger's Syndrome are disorders of a child's development that occur more and more frequently, and the number of children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) grows every year. The topic of autism, and especially the phenomenon of violence against students with autism, is dealt with in the AGAINST BUBBLE project. On February 16 - March 4, 2021, there was an international on-line training of teachers and trainers in the field of work on the development of emotional intelligence and emotional and social competences, which are an indispensable element of preventing violence against students with autism spectrum disorders. During the training, the preliminary results of research on the situation at school in the context of violence, especially towards autistic students - the first stage of the project, were discussed. The subject of emotional competences has been included not only in the theoretical context, but mainly focused on practical exercises - incl. in terms of the Gestalt methodology. Over 20 teachers, trainers and educators from Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece and, of course, Poland participated in the training. This training was the first step to work on the teacher training that will be carried out in each of the partner countries.
